East Helsinki Music Institute Concert and Reception

  • Scandinavia House 58 Park Avenue New York, NY, 10016 United States (map)

This free concert is for FFNYMC members and Borenius Legal Services guests.

This musical event will be a captivating cultural immersion, offering a glimpse into the young talents nurtured by East Helsinki Music Institute – IHMO, the home of Finland's most famous youth string orchestra Helsinki Strings. As a special preview, you have the chance to hear these musicians perform before their scheduled recital concert during the same weekend, where seven of IHMO's most gifted students will take the stage at Carnegie Hall in New York.

Concert by Young Talents

Ranging in age from 12 to 17, these extraordinary musicians will showcase their expertise in piano, violin, viola, and the traditional Finnish instrument, the 39-string kantele – an instrument that, notably, has never graced the halls of Carnegie Hall before.
